So, I just got back from Miami, the host city for this year’s American Society of Architectural Illustrator’s conference and exhibition for the 24th annual Architecture in Perspective. Sound exciting?! Well, actually it was.
Below I pasted some of my favorite pieces from the exhibition, courtesy www.asai.org,

The foremost in architectural delineation…
Maarten Van Dooren,
this year’s Hugh Ferriss Memorial Prize winner, above.
‘napkin sketch’ style watercolor,
actually produced in a restaurant while dining with his client.
…and many, many, many others. I abbreviated the work because I’m lazy.
This was my entry, of the Omaha College World Series, which won an Award of Excellence.
We participated in lectures and workshops.
Like this one on wood block printing.
But the view was distracting…
So we went for a cruise.
And we did a sketch tour at Vizcaya…
I tried four attempts at watercolor here. But the change from a rainy and overcast morning to a bright and sunny afternoon frustrated me beyond my capacity. I switched to pencil in an attempt to redeem myself. Eh, not quite, but a good ‘period’ to this post. Until next time…
