I recently worked with my favorite local marketing firm, Two West, on conceptualizing a kickstarter video for a product called the “Pet Zombie Rock”. Its a line of pet rocks, hand painted as zombies. Sort of a take off the 1970’s craze “Pet Rock” back from the dead.
This was a lot of fun to put together…
I want to give a behind-the-scenes look at how this came together. Show how artwork can assist in this sort of scenario.
We started with pretty much a blank slate.
The first order of business was to develop a “Pet Zombie Rock” logo. I just ran with it and this was the first thing I came up with.
After that we started digging into the concept for the video. We decided it should be a mock B-horror film. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the storyboards…
I conceptualized a cast of characters.
And then we started hashing out the story. You’ll notice, of course, how much of this changed in the video, with casting and shooting. But for the most part it all stayed fairly in line from start to finish.
